Abstract

This study aims to analyze Libya's potential in exporting halal products and to demonstrate the role of this promising sector in supporting economic development amidst the transformations occurring in the global economy. The importance of this topic stems from the rapid growth of the international halal products market and the opportunities it presents for countries with suitable natural and human resources, including Libya. The study seeks to highlight Libya's economic, geographical, and legislative advantages that qualify it for integration into global halal product value chains, particularly in the food and agricultural industries. It also addresses the most prominent challenges hindering the development of this sector, such as weak infrastructure, the absence of an accreditation and certification system, and limited marketing expertise. The study employs a descriptive-analytical methodology, relying on secondary data and reports issued by relevant international and regional organizations. The study concludes that organized investment in the halal products sector can contribute to diversifying income sources, boosting non-oil exports, and supporting sustainable economic development in Libya, provided that supportive policies and an effective institutional framework are in place.
