Guidelines for Authors

The Journal of Libyan Academy Bani Walid (JLABW) invites authors to follow the scientific and ethical requirements when preparing and submitting manuscripts for publication to ensure the quality of published research and efficient review procedures.

1. Manuscript Submission Requirements

  • Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not have been published previously, either fully or partially, in any journal, conference, or other publication platform.
  • Manuscripts must not be under consideration by another journal simultaneously.
  • The research must fall within the scope and disciplines of the journal.
  • Authors are fully responsible for the content, accuracy of data, results, and conclusions.

2. Manuscript Preparation and Structure

Manuscripts should follow the journal’s approved template and instructions and should generally include:

Title Page

Including:

  • Clear and accurate research title.
  • Names of all authors.
  • Academic affiliations.
  • Corresponding author’s email.
  • Contact information when required.

Abstract and Keywords

  • The abstract should clearly summarize the objectives, methodology, main findings, and conclusions.
  • Appropriate keywords should be provided to facilitate indexing and discoverability.

Manuscript Content

Depending on the discipline, manuscripts should include:

  • Introduction.
  • Literature review.
  • Research methodology.
  • Results.
  • Discussion.
  • Conclusions and recommendations.
  • References.

3. Scientific Formatting Requirements

Authors should:

  • Use appropriate academic writing style.
  • Organize headings, paragraphs, tables, and figures clearly.
  • Number tables and figures and refer to them within the text.
  • Use recognized scientific units and terminology.
  • Follow the journal’s required citation and referencing style.

4. References and Citations

  • All sources used must be properly cited.
  • References should be directly relevant to the research topic.
  • Authors are encouraged to use recent peer-reviewed scientific sources.
  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy of references and citations.

5. Authorship and Contributions

  • All individuals who made substantial scientific contributions must be included as authors.
  • Individuals without scientific contributions should not be listed as authors.
  • Authorship order should be agreed upon before submission.
  • All authors share responsibility for the published content.

6. Research Ethics

Authors must:

  • Avoid all forms of plagiarism.
  • Avoid fabrication or falsification of data and results.
  • Disclose funding sources and research support.
  • Declare potential conflicts of interest.
  • Obtain ethical approvals when research involves humans or animals.

7. Similarity and Plagiarism Screening

  • All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools.
  • The journal uses specialized software including:
    • Turnitin
    • Plagiarism Checker X
  • The overall similarity index should not exceed 20%, considering properly cited quotations and references.
  • The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject or request revisions for manuscripts that do not comply with plagiarism policies.

8. Peer Review and Revision Process

  • All manuscripts undergo peer review by qualified specialists.
  • Authors must respond to reviewers’ comments and complete required revisions.
  • Revised manuscripts must be submitted within the timeframe specified by the journal.

9. Data Availability and Research Materials

  • Authors are encouraged to share research data supporting their findings whenever possible.
  • Authors should provide a clear data availability statement.
  • Participants’ privacy and sensitive information must be protected.

10. Post-Publication Corrections

  • Authors must notify the journal immediately if significant errors are identified after publication.
  • The journal and authors will cooperate to issue corrections or retractions when necessary.

11. Copyright and Open Access

  • The journal retains the right of first publication for accepted articles.
  • Authors retain intellectual property rights according to the journal’s copyright policy.
  • Articles are published according to the journal’s open access policy.
