The Marginalization of the Social Worker's Role in Schools: An Analytical Reading of Professional Constraints and Prospects for Empowerment in Light of Social Work Practice

This research aims to study the phenomenon of the marginalization of the social worker's role in schools. It does so by analyzing the manifestations of this marginalization, identifying professional and institutional constraints, and exploring avenues for empowering the role in light of professional social work practice.
The research employs a descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing classical social work theories, social role theory, and social systems theory to understand the structural causes of this marginalization.
The analysis reveals that the marginalization of the social worker is not a result of individual shortcomings, but rather an institutional phenomenon related to job ambiguity, weak recognition of the profession, and the absence of effective partnership with the educational team.
The research concludes that empowering the social worker's professional role requires reorganizing school policies, ensuring professional autonomy, strengthening resources, and involving the social worker in planning and decision-making.
