The Implications of Sino-American Competition on the Regional Security Equation in the Middle East (2015–2025)

This study aims to analyze the nature of Sino-American competition in the Middle East during the period 2015–2025 and to examine its implications for the regional security equation and power balances within the region. The study adopted a descriptive analytical approach to monitor the evolution of the two powers' roles and instruments of influence, alongside a comparative approach to identify differences in their economic, military, and technological engagement methods. The importance of the research stems from the fact that it addresses a period that witnessed profound international and regional transformations, which contributed to redefining the Middle East's position in the strategies of the major powers and produced new dynamics that affected the policies of regional states and their ability to maneuver between conflicting interests.
The study concluded that competition between China and the United States has become a dominant factor in shaping the regional environment and has created a complex pattern of influence that combines economics and technology on the part of China and security and defense on the part of the United States. The results also showed the ability of some countries in the region to leverage this competition to diversify their partners and enhance their relative independence. The study recommended the need to develop more balanced policies that take advantage of the opportunities offered by competition, while strengthening national security and technological capabilities to mitigate potential risks.
