The Poetic Image between Personification and Embodiment in the Poem “I Say to My Companions When They Asked for Solace” by Qays ibn al-Mulawwah: A Descriptive Analytical Study

Abstract

This research addresses artistic rhetorical phenomena closely related to metaphor, simile, and personification (, anthropomorphism, and embodiment). This secand is an inherent feature of poetry and often occupies a large part of the poetic quality, as well as the continuous dynamism in the structure of the text, where they make the text imaginative and overflowing with endless emotions and nostalgia. Based on the above, my research focuses on this pictorial aspect in a poem by the poet known as Majnun Layla Qais bin al-Mallouh, in which I sought to clarify the rhetorical phenomena in his poetry, as well as to identify their dimensions, aesthetics, and impact on enriching the poetic text.
