Abstract

This research examines the hunting baths in Leptis Magna as a significant Roman structure reflecting the development of architecture and public services in the city during the Roman era. The study aims to highlight the baths' layout within the urban fabric, analyze their architectural and functional elements, and explore their social and health role in the lives of the city's inhabitants. The research employs a descriptive-analytical approach, examining archaeological remains and comparing them with Roman bath models in other North African cities. The findings reveal that the hunting baths represent an advanced model of Roman architecture, incorporating integrated cold, warm, and hot bathing units, along with underfloor heating and water heating systems, indicating a high level of urban planning and amenities. The research also underscores the archaeological and historical importance of this structure and the necessity of preserving it due to its cultural value in understanding hunting life in Leptis Magna, as evidenced by the murals found within it
