The Impact of Exchange Rate on Price Stability in Libya (2005–2024): An Econometric Study

This study examines the relationship between the exchange rate and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Libya over the period (2005–2024) using OLS, ARDL, and ECM models.
The results show a positive relationship between the exchange rate and the CPI, where an increase in the exchange rate leads to higher price levels due to Libya’s reliance on imports. The findings also confirm a long-run equilibrium relationship and a short-run adjustment mechanism between the variables.
The study concludes that the exchange rate is an important determinant of the CPI in Libya, along with other macroeconomic factors.
