Post-Publication Corrections Policy

The Journal of Libyan Academy Bani Walid (JLABW) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the published scholarly record. The journal handles post-publication issues in a transparent and responsible manner in accordance with international publication ethics standards and COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

This policy ensures that published information is corrected when necessary while preserving the integrity of the scientific record and maintaining transparency regarding any significant changes.

1. Corrections

The journal issues formal corrections when unintended errors are identified that do not affect the validity of the research findings.

Corrections may include:

  • Errors in authors’ names or affiliations.
  • Editorial or language errors affecting clarity.
  • Errors in tables, figures, or metadata.
  • Limited inaccuracies in published information.

A correction notice is published and linked to the original article, explaining the nature and date of the correction.

2. Retraction

The journal may retract a published article when serious issues affect the reliability of the research, including:

  • Confirmed plagiarism.
  • Data fabrication or falsification.
  • Duplicate publication or improper reuse of previously published content.
  • Major errors that invalidate results or conclusions.
  • Ethical violations in research procedures.

When an article is retracted:

  • The article record remains preserved in the journal archive.
  • The article is clearly marked as “Retracted”.
  • A transparent retraction notice explaining the reasons is published.

3. Expression of Concern

The journal may issue an Expression of Concern when there are indications of potential problems with a published article, but insufficient evidence exists for immediate correction or retraction.

The notice remains linked to the article until the investigation is completed and appropriate action is taken.

4. Requests for Post-Publication Changes

Authors, readers, or institutions may submit requests concerning published articles.

Requests should include:

  • Article title and identifier, if available.
  • Clear description of the issue.
  • Supporting evidence or scientific justification.

The Editorial Board reviews such requests and takes appropriate action according to ethical standards.

5. Authors’ Responsibilities After Publication

  • Notify the journal immediately if significant errors are discovered.
